1996
The 1996 Formula 1 World Championship is a season of change and surprise, as Damon Hill wins his first and only World Championship title, driving for Williams. The season sees the Williams FW18, a highly competitive car, paired with Renault engines, dominate the early part of the season. Hill's consistency and ability to maximize the car’s performance make him a strong contender throughout the year. The 1996 season also marks the return of Jacques Villeneuve, Hill’s teammate, who is a rookie but quickly establishes himself as a top driver with impressive performances, including a win at the European Grand Prix.
